WEST PENWITH

West Penwith is drenched in mystical lore from Giants and Piskies to Knockers and Meremaids. Relics of time past untouched by the modern world. Sites like the Botallack Mines and the Neolithic Merry Maidens show just how strong the human-nature connection is here. We fish her seas, farm her land and mine her core and she provides unconditionally and is as much a part of us as we are of her.

The word ‘mor’ is Cornish for ‘sea’ and in West Penwith we are all but consumed by it. We even have a word for the sound the sea makes which is called ‘mordros’.

The sea here, the mordros, is a constant reminder that we are connected to the story of life and like it’s waves we are all connected to this story. No matter what is happening within our inner world we belong to life as a whole but we can sometimes find ourselves disconnect.

By being present in these lands we can splice our own internal worlds with the world around us navigating our past memories and our future fantasies to ground ourselves in the moment and let ourselves feel, think and sense as one with the land, the story.

It is there in the lands between we can stand on the shores of awareness and connect with our transpersonal self and find our own internal resources to become human and nature combined.
